A furious football fan in Tianjin, China, destroyed his Barcelona jersey signed by Lionel Messi after the Argentine star was absent from a match played in Hong Kong.

Messi featured in a match held in Japan just three days after his no-show, sparking outrage in the Chinese community.

Removing the signed jersey from its framed display, the fan showcased it briefly before cutting it to shreds with scissors. He stated that any behaviour that disrespects fans, whether from celebrities or sports stars, would face his resistance, emphasising the value of respect above all.

On February 7, a friendly between Inter Miami International and Vissel Kobe took place in Tokyo. Messi made a 30-minute substitute appearance during the match, displaying a stark contrast to his absence during the match against a celebrity team in Hong Kong, where he was supposed to play with his team but decided not to at the very last minute at the match on February 4.
