Pest catchers remove huge beehive on apartment balcony
Pest catchers removed a huge beehive on an apartment balcony in Thailand.
The specialist Tum Sirichai, 40, arrived when resident Thanakit, 20, complained that the stinging insects had been interrupting his household chores at the condominium in Pathum Thani province on February 26.
Footage shows Tum, wearing only a cap and headscarf for protection, blowing smoke toward the hive to drive away the bee swarm nesting inside.
As the cloud of angry insects buzzed around in a frenzy, Tum grabbed the honeycomb and tore it down using his bare hands.
He said: 'If you are being stung by bees, it's better to back away slowly. Swatting at them will only attract more of the swarm to attack you.'
The relieved tenant Thanakit said: 'I have been renting this room since last year, and the giant honey bees began constructing the hive on the balcony this January.
'It grew to a huge size, and the bees kept diving me whenever I went outside. I'm glad I've finally gotten rid of them.'
