Russia's Ebeko volcano spewed ash into the atmosphere at an altitude of 3,000 metres, a Russian research institute said on Wednesday.
"The ash emission reached approximately 3,000 metres above sea level," the press service of the Kamchatka branch of the federal research centre Unified Geological Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences said.

The 1,156-metre-high Ebeko volcano is located on Russia's Paramushir island in the Kuriles. Regular, weak to moderate emissions have been occurring since 20 October 2016, which are considered normal for the volcano.

This footage illustrates various of the eruptions.
