Cao Chufeng, reporter:

"It’s ten past nine on Monday, the first day of the Canton Fair, and the door of the venue just opened about 5 minutes ago. As you can see, a lot of people are lined up here, waiting to get inside. Many of them are international buyers coming from all across the world; some of them have already been waiting here for about 30 minutes. This is what every session of Canton Fair looks like. "

"It’s very interesting, and every year, we see many innovations happening here."

This time, the number of buyers coming from America has also seen an increase of 21.4%.

Michael Kersey’s family owns a 130 year old American company. He’s also a regular Canton Fair buyer. I asked him about his impression of Chinese made products.

Michael Kersey, President, American Lawn Mower Co.:

"Chinese manufacturing is fantastic. We’ve been here, and it’s getting better every year. Doing business in China gets easier every year."

Majority of the exhibitors participating at the Canton Fair are Chinese suppliers. But international exhibitors are also there, spread over an area of 3000 square meters. 680 international companies are participating at this session, and their origin countries and regions have extended from last session’s 43 to 50 this time.

Bashir Slaibi, Area Export Manager, Klass:

"Why do we attend the Canton Fair? Because we are interested to see our customers; we know that all of our customers want to come to China for the Canton Fair."

[Voiceover]

China vows to continuously adopt an opening-up policy, and seeks win-win cooperation with other countries. Some recent measures include more visa-free entry policies and an increase in the number of international flights. Because of these, experts believe, we might be seeing a substantial number of international buyers and businesses by the end of this Canton Fair session.
