05/11/2024 02:17 am (GMT-0700) | COVINA, Calif. – CHP and LASD along with LACoFD responded to a gunshot victim on the eastbound 10 Freeway at Via Verde Street Exit. CHP officers were the first on the scene and located a Chevy Camaro with the victim not breathing and immediately started CPR. Firefighters arrived on the scene and attempted lifesaving measures, but pronounced the victim dead on the scene. Witnesses are saying the suspect was driving a black motorcycle and fled eastbound on the 10 Freeway at the Villa Verde exit. CHP had the Via Verde off-ramp closed as they investigated the fatal shooting. CHP had all lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway at Holt Avenue in Covina area closed and a Sig Alert was issued for a unknown duration.
