"A wild elephant in Gudalur, Nilgiris district, was swept away by a flood but miraculously survived
Due to heavy rains over the past two days, gudalur and its surroundings have experienced severe flooding in rivers. In such conditions, wild elephants approach rivers to drink water and sometimes cross to the other side. Three elephants attempted to cross a river in the Dharmagiri area near Kudalur. However, one of them was unexpectedly caught in the wild flood and swept away among the rocks for a short distance. The other two elephants were left stunned. Fortunately, the swept-away elephant managed to swim and struggle to the shore, safely getting out of the water."
