STORYLINE:

Li Hao, a teacher with Tianjin Vocational Institute (TVI), said he felt very proud to participate in the Luban Workshop program.

The Luban Workshop is China's international cooperation project in vocational education. It's named after Lu Ban, the renowned Chinese craftsman and inventor who lived 2,500 years ago.

In May 2023, Li was among the first batch of Chinese teachers to be dispatched to D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU) in Kazakhstan under the program. There, Li provided training on transportation equipment and technology.

Li's trip came after TVI and EKTU signed a March 2023 memorandum on the joint construction of the Luban Workshop in Kazakhstan.

"When I first arrived in Kazakhstan, my initial impression was that the local people were very warm, curious, and driven. At that time, we first received the equipment, then proceeded to install and debug it. Additionally, we provided basic training to local teachers. They went through each step in great detail, staying with us throughout the entire process until we successfully completed the final debugging.
I'm honored to be part of this project. On one hand, it's an opportunity for personal growth, enhancing my experience, skills, and proficiency. On the other hand, it contributes to injecting new momentum into the Belt and Road Initiative."
