The incredible video shows a brave man heroically catching a woman who dropped from the seventh-floor balcony of a burning building in a desperate bid to escape.

The footage, recorded in Baikonur, Astana, Kazakhstan, shows a woman climbing down the window of her burning flat when a neighbour below spotted her.

She then attempts to step onto the balcony overhang, aiming to reach the apartment below.

A fireman, standing by the window of the enflamed apartment can be seen firmly holding her arms, while the neighbour grasps her leg, to prevent her from plummeting to the ground.

Just moments later, her hands slip from the fireman's grasp, prompting cries from onlookers below who fear for her safety.
However, as she began to fall, the quick-thinking neighbour caught her by the leg in mid-air and swiftly pulled her towards the window, ultimately saving her life.

Local media reported that she later thanked both the firemen and the neighbour for rescuing her.
