Furious locals confronted and attacked tourists for allegedly punching a Thai woman in a shop.

The furious men approached the foreigner standing outside a cafe and launched his fist onto his face causing him to fall on the ground in Phuket, Thailand on August 27.

Footage shows the local kicking the fallen tourist as his friend and onlookers try to stop the brawl.

A female onlooker who approached the commotion was heard saying: ‘He punched a woman inside the store.'

Another foreigner seemingly the tourist's companion joined the brawl to rescue his friend but he was attacked as well.

Onlookers soon separated the two groups. The Patong Police Station is yet to release a statement on the brawl.

Clashes between locals and holidaymakers have increased in the last couple of years amid a relaxation of visa rules and a push from government chiefs to chase the tourist dollar.
