Crocodile sculpture appears at British harbour made infamous by a 'croc sighting'
A crocodile sculpture has appeared at a British harbour made infamous by a 'croc sighting' - which sparked a police response.
The reptile has been placed in an alcove overlooking the Floating Harbour in Bristol.
It pays homage to a crocodile that has entered local folklore since first allegedly being spotted near Bedminster Bridge.
The first ''sighting'' of the crocodile happened in 2014 when a bus driver claimed he saw one.
Police tweeted at the time: "One of our officers was flagged down by a bus driver today, claiming to have seen a 6ft crocodile. We can't find it.''"
The crocodile sculpture is the latest work by anonymous Bristol artist Getting Up To Stuff.
It appeared on Thursday morning and was mostly being ignored by oblivious passers-by on nearby Bristol Bridge.
