Lorry tumbles down bank and lands on water tanker in India
This is the shocking moment an allegedly speeding lorry tumbled down a bank and crushed a water tanker in India.
The lorry reportedly crashed through the guardrails of the Delhi-Ajmer Expressway and plunged 20ft onto the cabin of a water tanker travelling along the service lane of the Niwaru bridge in Jaipur City, Rajasthan state, on August 30.
CCTV footage shows the vehicle landing and flattening on the tanker's cabin.
Local broadcaster TV9 Bharatvarsh reported that the tanker driver survived but was seriously injured.
Police were searching for the lorry driver who fled the scene.
India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said around 80 thousand people are killed in road crashes every year in India. The department attributed the figure to carelessness and lack of road safety awareness in drivers.
