A huge python hiding behind the wall of a house was extracted in Bali.

The 15ft (2m) snake poked its tail out of the gaps of the unfinished part of the home before volunteers were called to pull it out in Indonesia.

Footage shows the serpent being dragged out by the rescuers in the messy dirty kitchen of the property in Gianyar district.

The reptile tried to resist but it was soon removed from its hiding spot behind wood and metal sheets.

Firefighter Kadek Jepang, who joined the rescue operation, said: 'The python was very strong. The team had to pull it together.'

The reticulated python is found throughout Southeast Asia, where they live in forests, swamps, canals and even in cities, causing them to come into conflict with humans. The species is one of the world's largest snakes and can eat humans, cats, dogs, birds, rats and other snakes.
