This is the shocking moment a huge gantry crane toppled onto shipping containers at a port in Taiwan.

The red loading device was struck by another crane fixed to the top of a barge carrier called Yuzhou Qihang, causing it to collapse in Keelung on October 14.

Footage shows the ship-to-shore crane falling to the ground and crashing into the containers.

No injuries were reported from the incident, and only one cargo container was damaged.

Song I-ching, deputy director of the port, said in a local interview: 'The barge was carrying the new gantry crane to replace an older one. The cause of the incident is still unclear.'

A new container gantry crane like the equipment damaged in the video could cost several million dollars.

The Keelung Port Branch of the International Ports Corporation said that shipping operations at Piers 20 and 21 were delayed by the incident.
