This is the heroic moment police save a woman passenger as she falls from a moving train in India.

Footage shows the mother leaning out of the coach door when she suddenly fell from the Shram Shakti Express at the Kanpur Central Railway Station on November 23.

Authorities said the mum was waiting for her children, who had been left behind by the passenger vehicle, prompting her to call for help as the train departed.

Inspector Shiv Sagar said Constable Anoop Kumar Prajapati acted swiftly to rescue the distressed passenger as she lost her balance and slipped from the carriage, narrowly avoiding being dragged by the train.

The family was reportedly traveling from Kanpur to Delhi when the incident occurred.
