This is the terrifying moment a passenger hangs from a moving train window in a failed selfie stunt in India.

The young man reportedly tried to dangle from the exterior of the vehicle while posing for pictures with his friends on March 10.

But he is said to have slipped and lost his grip, leaving him flailing in the wind as his friends battled to pull him back inside the carriage.

He managed to hold on long enough for the train driver to be alerted and make an emergency stop. Even with the train crawling along, he dropped down and stumbled along the gravel.

He was unharmed following the stunt on the train journey from Kasganj to Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Authorities are now investigating the incident.

The Government Railway Police in Agra directed the Farrukhabad district office to open a case. However, no arrests have been made.
