A cat was rescued after being stuck in a tree for five days in Washington.

Footage shows the feline, Pinnette, meowing inside a bag after she was saved on November 21.

Reports said that Adams County Pet Rescue helped the distressed cat, which had been stuck in the tree since November 16.

A local jogger heard the cat's cries near a park and reported the incident.

Initial attempts to rescue Pinnette were unsuccessful.

Staff member Kaitlyn then climbed the tree a second time, armed with food and a backpack kennel. Balancing carefully, she managed to secure the reluctant pet after a tense 40-minute rescue.

Pinnette quickly recovered, enjoying meals and comfort after her ordeal.

Authorities are still working to identify her owners.
