Resident climbs coconut tree to rescue stranded cat
This is the impressive moment a resident climbed a coconut tree to rescue a lost cat.
A pet owner was searching for her missing orange feline named Guru in Myanmar on April 30.
Distraught and on the verge of tears, she feared he might be lost.
As her family was checking for the cat around the yard, they heard faint meowing coming from one of the trees.
They then spotted Guru stranded high in a coconut tree.
The woman's uncle, experienced in tree climbing, volunteered to retrieve the stricken missing animal.
Footage shows him carefully scaling the trunk with his bare hands and feet.
Midway, he secured a rope around his waist for safety before reaching the stranded pet.
Upon reaching the top, he gently grabbed the visibly exhausted and scared cat by the scruff of the neck and placed him inside a pink pet carrier.
He then used the loop rope to support himself as he climbed back down while holding the carrier.
Family members waited anxiously below and reunited the cat with its worried owner once the rescue was complete.
The pet owner said: 'When Guru finally came down, his legs were trembling and his eyes looked frightened.
'My uncle didn't ask for any money, so in the evening I went out, bought some bread, and gave it to him to show my gratitude.'
