In a shocking incident in Damoh district, an auto carrying schoolgirls overturned early Monday morning (December 9th) under the jurisdiction of the Dehat Police Station, near the Sagar Naka checkpoint. The accident occurred when the auto, which was transporting around eight schoolgirls from Bansa Tarkheda village to JPB School, lost control while attempting to turn onto a fuel station on the Damoh-Sagar Highway. The driver was reportedly speeding, which caused the vehicle to flip.

As the auto overturned, several students were ejected from the vehicle. CCTV footage from a nearby petrol pump captured the terrifying moment when the auto flipped over, sending the students flying out of the vehicle. The local residents immediately rushed to the scene and helped transport the injured students to the district hospital in private vehicles.

Eight students were injured in total, with two of them—Shalini Thakur and Sanjana Thakur—suffering more severe injuries. After receiving initial treatment at the district hospital, they were transferred to a private hospital for further care. The other students received minor injuries and were sent home after treatment.

The incident highlights the risks of overcrowding in vehicles, as the auto was carrying more passengers than its capacity. The authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
