This is the unlucky moment an oblivious dog burned his fur on a birthday cake candle by standing right next to it.
Sarah Ciacia had planned to celebrate her golden retriever Happy’s 16th birthday on November 15 with the same cake from the previous year.
Adorable footage filmed at home in Melbourne, Australia, shows the birthday boy walking around the corner to a waiting lit cake.
But instead of stopping before getting to the open flame, Happy continued walking to Sarah before standing right next to the candle resulting in some singed leg fur.
Sarah said: “My initial reaction was of shock and then amusement once I'd realised he was okay.
“I intended to recreate last year's viral video in one take, because I expected Happy to react the same way by stopping short of the cake and its lit candles.
“Perhaps due to his failing eyesight - his eyes are deceivingly bright and clear - he headed straight for me. He singed the fur on his leg and got icing on it.”
