Dog who seriously injured front paws in ukraine explosion learns to hop ‘like kangaroo’
A dog whose paws were seriously injured in a Ukrainian explosion has learned to hop ‘like a kangaroo’.
Hanna Lot rescued Laaki after he was injured in a blast in the city of Kherson in 2022.
Despite almost losing his paws in the blast, the dog has modified the way he moves to use his back legs to hop forward.
Laaki has become a bit of a local celebrity in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine, as he bounds to play with other dogs.
Hanna said: “Whenever anyone sees Laaki hopping around outside, they say he looks like a kangaroo.
“He was rescued by volunteers after the explosion on Kherson dam. He was found basically without paws.
“Despite such a big injury he hasn’t let it get him down and he has found a way to get around without using his front legs as much as possible.”
