Great fire in Indonesia, 200 houses burned, 1,800 people displaced A major fire occurred in a densely populated residential area on Jalan Kebon Kosong, RW 05, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday 10 December afternoon.

This fire resulted in 200 residents' houses being burned and 1,800 people being displaced due to losing their homes.

Preliminary estimates are that the police said the fire was caused by a gas cylinder exploding.

Meanwhile, one firefighter had to be rushed to the nearest hospital because he was experiencing shortness of breath.

"Tired, because the area that was burned was quite large, but thank God the condition of the officers was safe. There was one who was short of breath then we quickly got a handler and we took him straight to Hermina Hospital, thank God his condition is now safe," said Subadi, Central Jakarta Fire Brigade Officer.
