This is the heartfelt moment a Sheriff's Office held a funeral for a police dog in Washington.

Footage shows law enforcement officers from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office and friends honouring fallen K9 Zuza with an emotional salute. They shared memories and expressed their deep affection for the canine, who served with unwavering dedication.

Zuza retired on December 29, 2022, after a distinguished career that included 138 captures, with notable achievements in apprehending dangerous criminals.

For nearly five years, Zuza was a loyal partner to Deputy N. Ward, providing comfort to fellow officers and deterring suspects.

Sheriff's Office said: 'She received so many scratches, and there wasn't a dry eye amongst us.'

Born in 2012, Zuza crossed the rainbow bridge on December 5, 2024.
