A stowaway travelled 180 miles under a train before being caught in India.

Train staff discovered the fare dodger hiding beneath the Danapur Express carriage from Itarsi to Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh on December 26.

The individual was found during a routine rolling test near the Jabalpur railway station.

Footage shows the man emerging from beneath the trolley, prompting the staff, who were shocked to see him, to call the Railway Protection Force (RPF) immediately.

One of the staff members said: 'I was in disbelief to see him underneath the train. He could have died.'

The RPF reportedly arrested and charged the culprit, and an investigation is underway.
