A stowaway clinging to a moving train attempted to reach inside for valuable items in India.

The alleged thief was spotted holding onto the carriage as the locomotive navigated the railways, allegedly trying to steal items from passenger seats in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on January 25.

Footage shows the suspect caught on camera as he attempts to pilfer travellers' belongings.

Upon seeing this, men aboard the train immediately grabbed his hand to prevent him from fleeing.

One of the witnesses said: 'He was hanging from the moving train's window grill for an hour. He initially jumped from another train in Kanpur.

'People are willingly risking their lives to steal phones and money,' he added.

On December 26, another stowaway travelled 180 miles underneath a train before being caught in Madhya Pradesh.
