US, Los Angeles: Pomona High Speed Collision with Foothill Transit Bus Leaves One Dead B Roll Part 2
Los Angeles, United States - January 22, 2025 01/22/2025 09:52 pm (GMT-0800) POMONA, Calif. – A high-speed collision between a vehicle and a Foothill Transit bus resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries at the intersection of West Monterey Avenue and North Garey Avenue on Sunday night, authorities said. The vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed, struck the rear of the bus, which was stopped at a red light en route to the Foothill Transit Center. Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed five patients in total, including one person, the driver of the Honda Accord, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Five passengers on the bus sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The identities of those involved have not been released. Responding officers arrived on scene and located a sedan that collided with the rear of a bus that was stopped. First responders performed life saving measures on scene; however, the driver of the sedan ultimately succumbed to his injuries. 5 passengers on the bus were transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the involved bus remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. This crash is being investigated by the Pomona Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
