CCTV Seconds of Earthquake Shakes Indonesia 31 Houses Damaged.

An earthquake disaster rocked East Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, in Indonesia on Wednesday morning, January 29 2025.

The 5.1 magnitude earthquake damaged 31 houses and two worship facilities.

This earthquake did not cause any casualties, but as many as 31 families were reportedly affected because their houses were damaged.

Tajudin, Head of the Prevention Division of the East Kolaka Regional Disaster Management Agency, said that the earthquake caused people in East Kolaka to panic and run out of their homes.

This earthquake shock was felt for approximately 2-5 seconds.

"Some residents are still outside their homes anticipating aftershocks," said Tajudin.

The earthquake that occurred in East Kolaka was centered on land and had no potential for a tsunami.

The earthquake occurred three times with varying magnitudes.

The force of the earthquake was felt in seven districts, starting from Mowewe District, Dangia District, Tirawuta District, Lalolae District, Tinondo District, Polipolia District and Lambandia District.

This earthquake was caused by downward movement of the Kolaka fault in the area.
