Police caught suspected thieves inside a department store in Colorado.

Parker Police Department Officers pulled over in front of Kohl's Department Store, where staff members called them for help apprehending the two alleged criminals on January 25.

Body camera footage shows the cop entering through the backroom door and subduing one of the suspects to the floor.

Another officer dashed across the racks of clothes and pushed through the exit door to chase his alleged accomplice, who tried to escape through a restaurant.

He ran amid shocked kitchen staff members before finally catching the other suspected thief.

The police department said: 'We are very grateful no one was injured and proud of our officers for arresting these suspects. Below is a message of appreciation from a Parker resident who saw the arrest.'

A customer at the restaurant who saw the operation said: 'We were having dinner to celebrate my daughter's birthday at Chili's on Twenty Mile.

'The police handled the situation with the utmost professionalism and were amazing. It was some of the best real-life experience I could ever give my children.'

Both men were arrested and taken into custody during the investigation.
