Ravenous Channa fish battles baby cobra before eating it
A ravenous Channa fish battled a highly venomous baby cobra before eating it.
The pet owner said he was searching for earthworms for his fish when he saw the snake under the dirt while digging around his backyard.
Upon catching the serpent using a hoe, he placed the snake inside the fish tank to feed it to his pet.
Footage shows the Channa fish biting the tail of the hapless snake. The cobra can be seen attempting to escape by attacking the face of the predator.
However, moments later, the aquatic animal managed to eat its food in Bekasi Regency, Indonesia, on December 23.
The pet owner said: 'When I was digging under a rock, a cobra suddenly came out and I was shocked.
'I tried to catch it again using a hoe and it crossed my mind to give the snake to my fish which in the end I gave the snake to my fish as a substitute for worms.'
Channa fish, also known as snakehead fish, are known to eat snakes. They are carnivorous and opportunistic feeders, which means they will eat a variety of prey, including small fish, crustaceans, and even small snakes.
Their predatory nature and aggressive feeding habits make them effective hunters in their natural habitat.
