US: Man Arrested After Wild Horse Chase During Drug Deal Bust in Jacksonville
Jacksonville, United States - February 04, 2025 A dramatic chase unfolded in Jacksonville as officers on horseback pursued a man involved in a drug deal. Body camera footage released by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) shows the mounted unit chasing 25-year-old Jordan Wilson, who was caught trying to hand off drugs. Wilson fled, but JSO officers on horseback quickly closed in, chasing him for a quarter mile through the streets. Officer Cassie Haire, riding Police Service Horse Nash, can be heard urging the horse on, "Come on. Get him, Nash. Get the bad man." The chase escalated as Officer Zackary Maryland and Police Service Horse Jaxx joined the pursuit, with Maryland shouting, “Hupp Jaxx, hupp. Run him over, Jaxx!” Wilson was eventually caught and arrested, marking the end of the dramatic on-foot escape attempt.
