A family were rescued from their home in Padang Pariaman Regency, Indonesia, which was inundated by 2-metre-deep floodwater.

Footage from January 24 shows a rescue team placing a family, including children, onto one of their life rafts.

Heavy rains from noon to night caused the area's rivers to overflow.

One of the rescuers, Kasih Ops Basarnas Padang Octavianto, said: "Floods were caused by quite heavy rainfall, causing several areas in West Sumatra to experience flooding and landslides starting from the afternoon until the evening.

"Currently the victims who have been evacuated will be made a temporary post at the nearest school, while the mother and baby will be taken to the nearest health centre to be provided with services from the medical team."
