Police arrested a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) suspect following a high-speed chase in Washington.

Officers in Olympia tried to pull over the white pickup truck, but the driver fled, leading deputies on a pursuit through Tumwater's snow-covered streets on Friday, February 14.

Despite multiple Pursuit Intervention Technique (PIT) manoeuvres, the slippery conditions made stopping the vehicle difficult.

As the suspect attempted to flee back, deputies executed a final PIT manoeuvre, forcing the truck into a tree.

For nearly an hour, the suspect refused to surrender, admitting he was under the influence and demanding to speak with the elected sheriff.

Footage shows officers firing foam bullets and pepper balls into the truck, but they had no effect.

K9 Igo was deployed through a window, prompting the suspect to exit after assaulting the dog.

The suspect was arrested for DUI, two counts of eluding, harming a police dog, and two counts of assault on law enforcement.

Authorities said that a deputy and the suspect sustained minor injuries, and two patrol cars suffered damage.
