A toddler stuck in a washing machine was rescued in Indonesia.

A police report said that a mother and her two-year-old son were playing hide-and-seek when the child hid inside the machine's dryer tube in Karawang Regency, West Java, on February 23 afternoon.

However, he became stuck and was unable to get out. His parents reportedly even tried to pull him free but were unsuccessful.

This prompted them to call the Karawang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency Fire Department for help.

Rohmat, Head of the Fire and Rescue Division, said: 'We received a request for assistance at around 6 pm, and two of our officers immediately went to the scene.'

Footage shows the officers dismantling the tube with a drill while the boy, trapped up to his chest, hugs his mum during the laborious operation.

The toddler did not sustain any serious injuries but had a few bruises from the incident.

Sujanto, Team Commander of the rescue team who led the evacuation, said: 'After approximately 30 minutes of rescue, the toddler finally got out of the washing machine.'

'Thank God the victim was evacuated in normal condition, with only red marks on the skin from being pinched.'
