The moment a mother in Indonesia gave birth to a baby boy on a plane
A mother in Indonesia gave birth on a plane in flight.
A mother with the initials RS gave birth on a Citilink QG 417 plane, during a flight from Pontianak to Surabaya on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
The mother gave birth to her child safely thanks to the help of a midwife who was also a passenger on the plane. Behind the birth, there was Midwife Tessa who helped deliver the mother and baby safely.
The midwife named Tessa struggled alone with the simple delivery equipment on the plane.
"Praise God, the delivery went smoothly until finally the Citilink pilot announced that a baby boy had been born at an altitude of 35 thousand feet," said Tessa Siswina, the midwife who helped with the delivery on the plane.
It is known that the mother who gave birth had a flight permit with a pregnancy condition of 33 weeks. However, during the flight, the mother experienced contractions and her water broke.
Confirmed, Head of Corporate Secretary & CSR Division PT Citilink Indonesia, Tashia Scholz confirmed regarding the news circulating regarding a passenger who gave birth on a Citilink flight.
"The mother and baby are in safe condition and have been at the nearest hospital to receive intensive medical treatment, post-delivery," said Tashia Scholz.
