China - Recent Storyline: Chinese agricultural machinery makers dig into global demand [Voice_over] Chinese agricultural machinery manufacturers are eyeing the global market as overseas demand picks up quickly this year. One firm that makes farm equipment in Yongkang City of eastern China's Zhejiang Province says they expect their export volume to increase by at least three-fold this year. [Sound_bite] Yu Feng, President, Agricultural machinery enterprise: "Currently, our products are mainly exported to the Southeast Asian countries, like Vietnam. In 2025, our export volume will increase by 200 to 300 percent compared with 2024 level. We are also exploring the African market and expect to export 20 million U.S. dollars worth of goods this year." [Voice_over] Another agricultural machinery supplier in the province says export orders account for over 80 percent of their total sales, with automated and light-weight equipment the most in demand. [Sound_bite] Xu Guang, President, Agricultural machinery enterprise: "Our export business increased by 30 percent this year. We have seen robust growth in the European and American markets in recent two years. Our orders have been scheduled through late April or early May." [Voice_over] Statistics show that the value of China's agricultural machinery exports reached about 10 billion U.S. dollars in 2024, an increase of about 20 percent compared to 2023.
