Snake is caught in sticky mousetrap when it tries to steal food in family's kitchen
A hapless snake was caught in a mousetrap when it tried to steal food in a family’s kitchen.
The serpent slithered inside a house but was unfortunately stuck in the sticky goo of a trap in Nakhon Ratchasima province on April 23.
It was discovered about two hours later by a resident when he was about to prepare food.
Footage shows the reptile struggling to crawl out of the trap as the terrified house owner watched on.
House owner Janu Burirum said: ‘I placed the trap there because the rats could enter our house and sometimes bite our supplies. I didn’t know it would also be effective against rat snakes.’
The house owner added that the snake looked like a cobra at first so he hesitated from coming near it, but realised later that it was a non-venomous rat snake.
He called the rescuers to the property and remove the snake from the trap before driving away with it for release into the wild.
