Footage shows rescue teams searching through the rubble of a building in Bangkok, Thailand, that collapsed during an earthquake.

Tremors brought the building down as an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 struck neighbouring Myanmar on March 28.

Dozens of workers were trapped in the debris, with at least 17 killed.

The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometres (six miles) around 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of Monywa.

Residents ran from their homes when they felt the tremors at around 1:20 pm local time. In Myanmar, at least 1,600 people were killed and more than 4,000 injured.

The quake destroyed buildings, bridges, and dams, leaving many areas in ruins. Communication remains difficult as mobile networks are down, and access to electricity and the internet is limited.
