Swan Lake Mayhem, Angry swans, prompt letters to the King, Trenance Boating Lake, Newquay, Cornwall, UK
A growing group of people are begging Natural England to relocate what they say are aggressive swans from a popular beauty spot in Cornwall where they have lived for years.
The two swans have lived on the Trenance Boating Lake at Newquay for several years and are widely believed to be a mated pair. Both are often assumed to be male as they have never produced offspring although this has never been confirmed,
Each year locals report them attacking and killing ducklings from the second they begin to hatch. It's said to cause distressing scenes for locals and visitors alike at the family attraction and some would like the swans moved to ensure the safety of other wildlife and less upset for visitors.
It's become so upsetting that one woman, Jenny Jones, has even encouraged people to write to King Charles to express their concerns in attempts to have them relocated. She says those that work on the lake regularly have to fish out the deceased babies before families take to the water.
She said: "It is nearing the time that the ducks will be mating again and newly hatched ducklings will be appearing on the lake only to be instantly killed by the two swans and the female ducks being harassed to near exhaustion."

The expert reply has been that it is not possible to interfere with the swans, as the behaviours though upsetting are perfectly natural, Nature indeed red in tooth and claw.
