Pupils' science experiment goes wrong as lightbulbs explode
This is the shocking moment a pupil's science experiment went wrong as their lightbulbs exploded.
Joel Pajinado and his classmates were testing their science project in physics when it short-circuited in Mindanao, the Philippines.
Footage shows the student sitting on the floor, plugging the cable into the socket, while his classmate turns the switch on.
The three lightbulbs lit up successfully, but when they turned them off, the cables immediately emitted thick white smoke, causing the frantic group to scream and scramble away out of the classroom on March 31.
Joel said: 'We bought the materials, but due to a limited budget, we had to use small wires. We assembled everything using switch wires along with 5-watt, 7-watt, and 10-watt bulbs. However, we didn't use electrical tape to cover the connected wires, and I believe they touched each other.
'The most important thing is that no one was hurt. We learned from this experience, and everything was sorted out quickly. But it was definitely an unexpected turn of events for our project.'
