Locals helped a van cross a river by floating it on a bamboo raft in the Philippines.

The white vehicle carrying tourists was travelling to a campsite in the mountains and had to cross a body of water in Bukidnon province.

However, the level was too high, so residents assisted them using a vessel they made with available raw materials.

Footage shows Good Samaritans carefully securing the car in the raft before four men pushed it to the other side on December 23.

Visitor Joan Alcontin said: 'We were our way to Misty Mountain Haven in Malaybalay at that time.'

In the Philippines, road conditions in rural and remote provinces remain inconsistent, with some areas experiencing long periods before repairs or upgrades are made.

The developing country has made significant improvements in its infrastructure, but challenges persist, especially in less accessible regions.
