An American tourist was arrested over an alleged cocaine-fuelled rampage at a clinic in Bali.

The holidaymaker, identified by police by the initials MM, was said to have collapsed after mixing the drug with cannabis.

His friend called the emergency services to rush him to the Nusa Medika Pecatu Clinic in the early hours of April 12.

However, when he woke up, he was said to have flown into a violent rage, sparking alarm among nurses and patients.

Footage shows the drug-addled tourist screaming at the locals as they recorded his outburst on their phones. Others screamed, fearing they would be attacked.

He toppled a shelf containing medical equipment, yelling: 'Give me the f******* phone. Record it you f****** c***.'

A terrified female patient broke down in tears when MM then ripped the hospital curtains around her bed.

Another tourist ordered nurses to take the bed outside while trying to placate MM. Police later arrived to control the rampaging American.

Assistant Commissioner I Komang Agus Dharmayana, South Kuta Police Chief, said the American was arrested and will now be deported.

The officer added: 'The man was taken by his friend to the clinic in an unconscious state. When he regained consciousness, he suddenly went on a rampage and damaged items around him.

'His friend came over to hug him when he opened his eyes. However, the perpetrator was shocked and immediately became angry and hit his friend. So there was a fight between the two in the examination room

'Because the perpetrator could not be stopped, the security guards finally contacted the village officers and the police to immediately come to the location to help secure him.'

MM reportedly calmed down and 'realised his mistake' when the cops arrived. He underwent drug tests, which were allegedly positive for THC and cocaine.

Authorities said MM has agreed to pay 2,085 USD in compensation to the clinic.

Police have handed him over to the Nugrah Rai Immigration Office on the popular holiday island for deportation from Indonesia.

Indonesia has some of the toughest drug laws in the world, with harsh penalties, including the death penalty, for drug possession and trafficking.

However, the Southeast Asian nation remains a major drug-trafficking hub where contraband is readily available to tourists due to weak border management.
