A scorned ex-girlfriend allegedly posed as a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official to kidnap her former lover's wife.

Latrance Battle, 52, was arrested on April 11 after reportedly impersonating a law enforcement officer.

Reports stated that Latrance arrived at the victim's workplace on April 10 wearing a black shirt with 'ICE' printed on it. She also carried a radio and a business card that appeared to be from the sheriff's office.

The suspect then allegedly ordered the victim into a vehicle, threatening to call more ICE agents. The victim complied, fearing deportation, as she was in the process of becoming a legal US resident.

A police spokesman said: 'As they were in the car, travelling to their destination, Latrance forcefully snatched the victim's phone from her as she was trying to contact her lawyer and husband.'

The kidnapped wife later claimed that Latrance taunted her, saying she 'would now face the consequences of her husband's actions'.

Authorities added: 'After they arrived at the Bridge Plaza apartment complex, the victim suspected something was wrong because Latrance told the victim they were going to the Sheriff's Office. As Latrance went inside the apartment, the victim fled and called law enforcement.'

Officials later confirmed that the victim's husband identified the suspect as his ex-girlfriend, who had a restraining order against her from a prior attack.

Bodycam footage shows deputies knocking on the suspect's car door, with her eventually stepping out of the vehicle with her hands raised.

Authorities discovered that Latrance was on probation for aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.

Latrance now faces serious charges, including kidnapping, robbery by sudden snatching, impersonating a law enforcement officer, and probation violation.
