Two runaway cows caused a motorcycle crash when they suddenly dashed across a busy road in Thailand.

The loose farm animals were shuffling along the roadside when they were spooked by loud car engines whizzing by on the island of Phuket.

CCTV footage shows the bovines bolting onto the pavement today, August 13. They struck two motorcycle riders, who were sent tumbling to the ground by the impact near the median strip.

Police rushed to the scene after receiving a report at 9:25 am local time. They found Paew Ruecha and Kajornsak Thakan injured, with their damaged bikes nearby.

Both were taken to the hospital as police collected evidence and towed the damaged bikes away.

Police Captain Chaiwat Makkaew of the Kathu Police Station said: 'The cows fled the scene and have not been traced. We are searching for their owner.'

Locals urged authorities to address the traffic hazard as untethered cows reportedly frequented the area.
