Black jellyfish fill beach in the Philippines
Hundreds of black jellyfish swarmed along the shore at a tourist beach.
Footage shows the black bloom swimming just under the surface, turning the water into a polka-dotted scene in Negros Occidental, the Philippines.
Holidaymakers who had just arrived at the port were worried as the creatures could have drifted into nearby swimming spots in the area.
Visitor Nichole Anne Ocbina said: 'They looked like tiny boba pearls floating in the sea. We had to be cautious while swimming because it was jellyfish season.'
Nichole Anne went to the island destination on April 27.
The increase in jellyfish blooms, including those of black jellyfish, may be influenced by various environmental factors such as water temperature, salinity, and nutrient availability.
Changes in ocean currents and human activities can also contribute to the proliferation of jellyfish in certain areas.
