A drone captured a couple's heartwarming surprise proposal on a mountain peak.

Boyfriend Joseph Yabut joined his girlfriend Edlyn Sumbi's birthday hike, before reaching the end of the trail.

His friends then unfurled a banner as he asked her to marry him.

Footage shows Joseph sneaking behind Edlyn as she tries to soak up the moment and the beautiful views surrounding them.

Joseph hugged his partner from behind, and they waved at the passing aerial camera until Edlyn looked behind her.

The soon-to-be-groom dropped to one knee and showed her a ring before Edly said yes.

Edlyn said: 'The proposal happened at Communal Ranch. I had no idea he was going to do it there. The tour coordinator was his accomplice. He even asked permission from my mother and father before we left.'

The pair had been together for more than six years before the surprise proposal in Bukidnon, the Philippines, on April 19.
