A woman had a sky-high surprise when her boyfriend proposed marriage to her at a restaurant suspended on top of a 164ft-high crane in Dubai.

Donna Cepillo, 26, booked a table at the concept restaurant ‘Dinner in the Sky' with her partner Mark Donn but didn't expect he would ask to marry her in the United Arab Emirates on June 14.

Footage shows Donna strapped to one of the chairs for safety with her would-be fiance as she used a spoon to crack open the chocolate dessert.

She found a box inside, which Mark had taken, and revealed the ring he had worn on her finger.

Mark said ‘will you marry me?' before Donna accepted, and everyone at the table clapped for the soon-to-be-wedding couple.

Speaking after, Donna said: ‘I did not expect that he would propose to me. He asked my parents in the Philippines first then prepared the surprise.'

Dinner in the Sky Dubai is a unique dining experience where guests enjoy a meal while suspended 50 meters above the ground by a crane. The table accommodates about 22 diners who are securely strapped into their rotating seats, offering panoramic views of Dubai's iconic skyline.
