The 2025 USC “Speak Your Mind” Ice Bucket Challenge is making waves once again—this time with Cpl. Matthew Boyko of the Woolwich Township Police Department stepping up for the cause. After being nominated by an officer from Oaklyn Police Department, Cpl. Boyko braved a freezing splash to help raise awareness for mental health and support Active Minds, a global nonprofit advocating for youth mental wellness.

Reviving the spirit of the original ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, this campaign brings a new purpose: breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and encouraging open, honest conversations. It’s a powerful message wrapped in a lighthearted, community-driven tradition.

To keep the momentum going, Cpl. Boyko nominated East Greenwich Township Police NJ, Woolwich Fire Company, and Logan Township Police Department to take the plunge next. The department hopes this international wave of awareness continues to grow—one bucket at a time.
