US, Los Angeles: Elysian Valley Suspect Swims Through Los Angeles River After Golf Cart Pursuit
Los Angeles, United States - May 09, 2025 05/09/2025 12:00 am GMT-0700 ELYSIAN VALLEY, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast Division officers attempted to stop a man driving a golf cart, but the suspect failed to yield. The man drove the golf cart into the Los Angeles River, eventually submerging it. To evade arrest, the suspect swam down the river. Officers then jumped into the water and took the man into custody. The Los Angeles Fire Department was requested to assist, as the man was possibly experiencing hypothermia. The incident occurred in the Los Angeles River south of Fletcher Drive.
