SEATTLE — A mother duck and her ducklings received a much-needed assist this week when a Washington State Patrol trooper and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) crews helped guide them off a busy freeway.

The moment, shared by WSP on social media, showed the duck family—nicknamed the “duck-linquents”—safely making their way off the roadway with a little human help.

“Sometimes you need a little help getting your ducks in a row,” the agency wrote on Facebook.

The heartwarming rescue is a reminder of the small but meaningful ways officers and transportation workers keep everyone—human and animal—safe on Washington’s roads.
