This is the amusing moment thousands of rubber ducks raced through a park in South Carolina.

Fourteen thousand toy ducks were released into Falls Park during the 21st Annual Reedy River Duck Derby in Greenville, South Carolina.

Footage shows the yellow toys floating in the water, with an orange net blocking their route before the race on May 3.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of the Reedy River Greenville, the event drew large crowds and raised approximately 95,000 USD (approximately 76,950 GBP) for local charities.

Around 120 volunteers reportedly signed in to assist with the event.

Organisers said that this year's Derby marked another sellout, continuing a five-year streak of duck adoptions selling out before race day.

With fewer than 25 members, the club has turned the Derby into the largest per capita Rotary fundraising event in the Upstate's 49-club district.

Eric Krichbaum, Head Duck of the Derby, said: 'The Duck Derby continues to be an annual event that brings our community together and enables the Reedy River Greenville Rotary club to provide local nonprofits with funding to serve the community.'

Funds raised will be distributed through a grant system, which will be finalized in June after all expenses are settled.

Spectators also enjoyed live music, games, food trucks, and entertainment as they cheered on the floating racers.

The first Reedy River Duck Derby took place in 2005, when the Rotary Club of the Reedy River Greenville decided to create an event to raise money for local charities. The idea of racing rubber ducks down the Reedy River caught on quickly, and the Derby has become a much-loved tradition in Greenville.
