Woman has 18 pet cows - and loves to cuddle her TWO TONNE bull
Meet the woman who is obsessed with her 18 pet cows - and cuddles her TWO TONNE bull.
Simone Dawson, 35, has grown up surrounded by the animals and now keeps the Limousin cattle as a hobby.
Her favourite is a retired two tonne bull - called Orlando but nicknamed 'Big Fella'.
The bull hates going outside and men - but loves a cuddle.
Simone spends £1,600 a month during the winter on feed for her cows - but says it's worth it.
Simone, who has a family business selling trailers, Blackford, Cumbria, said: "They became more of pets."
"I adore them."
"I have a two tonne bull - he's retired and he loves cuddles."
"Big Fella hates men - he'll run to the other side of the barn. He's never had a traumatic experience but he hates them."
"He's waited on hand and foot."
Simone remembers getting her first cow aged one after her grandad bought one.
Simone's mum, Stephanie Foster, 58, and dad, Michael Foster, 62, used to show the animals but now they are a hobby for the family.
Simone has been sharing the huge breed on TikTok @simonedawson1 since 2022 - gaining 28.1m likes.
But for Simone the cows are more than just pets.
She said: "They are there to look after and love."
"In 2017 I went through a bad patch with depression. If I didn't have the cows I don't know we're I'd have been."
Simone dedicates her spare time to her cows - spending £1,600 a month on them in the winter - and has dragged her husband, Alex Dawson, 33, into helping.
She said: "Big Fella - he's getting better with my husband."
"My husband will help out when I ask but he's a townie."
Simone hopes to change the stigma around cows and farming.
She said: "Everyone thinks bulls are lunatics."
"Farming can have a bad reputation."
"I have so much respect for my animals."
Simone receives supportive messages daily and has found sharing her animals has brought joy to others.
She said: "It's my safe haven."
"If I'm feeling down he'll [Big Fella] come and give me a cuddle and lick my face."
"My animals - they are my kids."
